A world in which no one ever experiences disappointment would be worse than the world as it is due to other emotions becoming more prominent and people not being able to achieve their goals. Currently people are disappointed everyday on a small scale to a large scale. The level of disappointment can vary from one's friend not keeping to their promise or being disappointed that you didn't get an A star in a test even if you worked your hardest.

If people never experienced disappointment the change in people's lives that occurs after one is disappointed in another will never happen. This includes an increase in motivation  after being disappointed in one's own actions such as playing badly in a test or changing the way you aid or interact with a person after they have let you down and left you feeling disappointed. Most feelings of disappointment therefore come from someone not achieving a goal, no matter the size. These feelings and changes help everyone and their peers become better individuals and help them work towards their goals instead of being disappointed that they have missed them. If people aren't working towards their goals people will be unable to have any meaningful achievements as the consequences of their actions would, in the world as it is, make us feel disappointed, however, if this is absent then people will lack the ability to achieve their goals and become the best version of themselves. Furthermore, with the absence of disappointment people will also be unable to know if they have fulfilled people's expectations or not. This means that the quality of work may decrease causing goals of not only people but firms to also be missed which can lead to a decrease in sales as the quality of the goods decreases and the economy to deteriorate as these firms lose business, worsening our world as material output is important for utility and the standard of living may decrease.

Whilst it an be argued that people can communicate with each other and express what they believed either has done wrong, the feeling of disappointment absent may not make a difference as people can have set criteria when goals are missed so the feeling of disappointment for anyone is not needed to tell whether one is fulfilling their goals or not. However, there are some goals that do not have a set criteria or a specific action that should be done afterwards. Expectations may be set high and when not fulfilled they can cause disappointment in the world as it is. Without disappointment hope that these will be met may not occur and alongside the fact that these expectations may disappear, so will the incentive for people to work harder. If there are no expectations people will not have anything to work for meaning people may become complacent and do the bare minimum which has wider economic and social effects. This leads to  people doing things to fulfil other feelings such as drugs for pleasure and to also suppress the emotion of sadness. Other feelings may become more prominent which may worsen the world as an increase in laziness and a lack of motivation can mean people innovate less and our society lacks variety and items may become homogeneous. This is because people do not know if they fail and thus cannot change their ways so attempts at innovations and other changes in one's life cannot occur.

Arguably a world without disappointment may be worse than our world today as there are many feelings that are caused or worsened by disappointment that help people identify the reason for their feeling of disappointment. This includes the feelings of panic, sadness, anger and annoyance. These feelings are able to be felt so they can signal to people the actions that have just occurred and what they need to do next. However, the issue is that these feelings occur under multiple different circumstances and thus it can be difficult to tell why these emotions are felt and what one should do if they feel like this. For example one can be disappointed that they didn't win the race but they could feel angry they were complacent and did not check if their shoelaces were done before the race and thus them falling over meant that they did not win the race, causing their feeling of disappointment. Thus, disappointment is important and without it people would struggle mentally to try to figure out how they are feeling and how to combat this which could lead to feelings other than disappointment not experienced which would worsen one's ability to process their thoughts and figure out their actions.

Overall, a world in which no one ever experiences disappointment would be worse than the world as it is due to a lack of motivation leading to wider economic and social issues which can also arise due to failure not always being detected. This all depends upon the scenario and how strongly disappointment would be felt and whether this will have a great effect on other aspects of another's life. Yet overall it would worsen our world if disappointment was never experienced.
