About me

Hi!

My name is Julia and I am a current A level student. I have always been interested in the subjects  of Politics Philosophy and Economics but it was only until recently that I discovered this hidden desire to explore them.

Around the age of 15, I first began reading 'The Economist' magazine weekly, ever since I was first introduced to it by my head of year at school. Economics forms the basis of our world and we would not be able to function without it, which is why I feel it is one of the most important subjects one could ever study and find interesting ! Yet whilst I was reading about economic affairs such as Britain's housing crisis and the growing economy of China, I felt myself consider the political factors that come into play such as how has Xi Jinping 's Communist rule possibly aided China's ascent to becoming one the worlds largest economies. I also felt drawn towards the political aspects of the magazine. Yet reading about current affairs and other Economic/Political articles was not the only thing that sparked my passion but it was me questioning the world around me and how it functions. Economic models always need the condition of 'all other things being equal' is regularly needed in order for a model to stand which has frustrated me. Hence in this blog I will attempt to consider the other factors that mean these models do not hold and express my views of some controversial questions .

Philosophy is a subject that intertwines with them all and to be honest one that I never came across until recently. I  particularly enjoy metaethics and virtue ethics but I try to focus on all aspects of Philosophy on my blog! I am constantly reading books on this subject which teach me new parts of Philosophy that are extremely intriguing and each time my interest in the subject grows.

My passion for these three subjects is extremely deep so I felt compelled to create this blog to share my opinions, research and just express my thoughts on topics I find interesting within these subjects. I truly believe that Politics, Economics and Philosophy are the key subjects that we need to truly understand life and how our world functions. It is so important for us to have a deeper grasp of why things work the way they do as well as question the effectiveness of  models and morals that are used in society, which is why I am so keen to learn more and share with you all my findings on these AMAZING subjects!

DISCLAMER: The structure of my posts can vary with some being formally written essays with a ridgid structure whilst others are more informal, opinion based articles.
